Topic: “Protecting Spider Crabs When They Come Into Port Phillip Bay to Moult.”
Councillor Sarah Race was elected to the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council in 2020 and represents the Nepean Ward. Cr Race was elected as Deputy Mayor in 2020. She is the appointed representative on Council’s Innovation Advisory Committee, the Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) and the Metropolitan Transport Forum and an alternate representative on the Arts and Culture Advisory Panel, Inter Council Aboriginal Consultative Committee, Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) and the Keep Victoria Beautiful Tidy Towns – Sustainable Communities Awards. The Victorian Government has also appointed Cr Race to its Gender Equality Advisory Committee.
Cr Race has a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and History) and is currently studying for her Masters (Politics and International Relations). Her career background includes working across the e-
commerce, tourism and community development industries within the public and private sectors, both in the UK and Australia.
